Everyone knows Big Ed, but many have never seen his
hobby, building a model train village.
Most board members have had the tour of the trains, but we thought you all might
be interested to see
this unbelievable train set. Almost every building Ed made by hand. If you look
carefully, you'll
see buildings you may recognize. The original Foodtown which was Ed's dads store
Frank's Market, South Amboy Train station a home on Betram Ave. The
Raritan Diner. Murals of
South Amboy are painted on the walls most done by his
Uncle Stanley, depicting St Mary and Sacred Heart and the coal dumpers. Pictures
can't describe the size of this
miniature village. It is about 1000 square feet, the size a small home. Ed
has been continuously building this model
for well over 25 years. When the lights are out all the buildings light up.
